Hikari Toriumi (She/Her)

Storyboard Artist
Hikari Toriumi is an Emmy-nominated Japanese filmmaker based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Originally from Tokyo, she came to the U.S. to attend the California Institute of the Arts, where she created three animated short films, KOISHI, The Walldwellers, and Polaris. After her sophomore year, she started her career at Pixar Animation Studios where she interned as a 3D animator and contributed to the Academy award-winning film COCO. Upon graduating college, she pursued storyboarding and worked on the Academy award-nominated film Over the Moon directed by Glen Keane. Hikari had also worked on the Emmy-nominated Netflix Original Series, TRASH TRUCK. She is an episodic director of the Emmy-nominated Tonko House + Netflix Animated film, ONI:Thunder God's Tale, and is currently a story artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
