As a husband and wife collaborative creative team, Colin and Kristine Poole’s work has been widely recognized and collected. From the petite to the monumental, their classically inspired contemporary realism spans many disciplines and genres from public art monuments, most recently for the Carnegie Library in Michigan to corporate commission work, including The National Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, National Geographic, The US Mint, The USPS, PBS, AT&T, Coca Cola, Sony, Standard Pacific, Daimler-Benz, Dupont, Exxon, Freightliner, Hilton, Lexus, Mitsubishi International Corporation, Lourdes Cathedral France and various other Fortune 500 companies.
In addition to numerous private commissions, the Pooles have also been commissioned by Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fine Art, are the creators of The Denver Comic Con/Pop Culture Classroom’s Excellence in Graphic Literature Awards and New Mexico’s Lifetime Achievement in Wildlife Conservation Awards.
The Pooles’ collaborative sculptures have been finalists and award winners in Spectrum, Infected by Art, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine’s Art Prize, The Chesley Awards and The Zanesville Prize among others. A selection of publications featuring their work includes: The Wall Street Journal, Masters of Contemporary Fine Art, Spectrum, IBA, Beautiful Bizarre, CAST, 500 Figures in Clay, Airbrush Action Magazine, The ARC International Art Salon, Ceramics Monthly and Ceramics Ireland.
They have been honored to be on the juries for Spectrum, Infected by Art and the St. John’s College Walter S. Baird Award for Art and Literature.
Their commitment to giving back to the art community finds expression through various means: as the founders of the Spectrum Rising Star Award, each year they judge and present this award to an exciting new voice in the field of Imaginative Realism and frequently donate their time to give presentations and talks on art and business to organizations around the country.
They currently live and create in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains surrounded by their menagerie of birds and beasts.
