Marie-Alice Harel is a French author and illustrator based in Scotland. She was a geosciences PhD researcher before becoming a freelance artist in 2016. Her drawings and watercolors can be found in books, picture books, and galleries. She also teaches, creates artist books as often as she can, and writes stories if no one stops her. Marie-Alice won the 2019 Book Illustration Competition organized by the Folio Society and House of Illustration, and has been featured in several volumes of Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art.
