Radford Sechrist is the creator and executive producer of the recently launched, critically-acclaimed Netflix original series, DreamWorks Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. He began his career as a character designer and comic book artist before joining DreamWorks Animation in 2006 as a storyboard artist on classic DreamWorks feature films including Megamind, Kung Fu Panda 2, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and The Boss Baby. Sechrist initially intended Kipo to live as a webcomic, but the unique premise and anime-influenced drawing style attracted attention of DreamWorks executives who encouraged him to pitch the project as a television series. In addition to creating Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Rad teaches his craft at theCalifornia Institute of the Arts, Academy of Art University, Concept Design Academy, and the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art. He attended the the University of California, Santa Barbara, and lives in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter.
