Hey! I'm Akbar, a Kyrgyz-Canadian Visual Development Artist based in Toronto.
I’ve been working in the animation industry since 2019, starting as a background painter on various projects for about five years. From there, I transitioned into freelance visual development and now work full-time at Netflix as a Visual Development Color Key Artist.
I’m very passionate about painting, and I love taking workshops, exploring new classes, and meeting people who share similar interests and mindsets.
In my spare time, you’ll find me sketching outdoors, going for a run, diving into color studies, or watching epic cinematic films.
I’m extremely excited to participate in and be part of LightBox this year, and I’m looking forward to meeting you all. Come say hi if you see me!
