Alessandra Sorrentino (She/Her)

Storyboard Artist Animator
Alessandra Sorrentino is a Story Artist, 2D Animator and Art Director with over 20 years in the animation industry. Born and raised in Turin, Italy, she has worked primarily in feature animation with major studios such as Pixar, Netflix, BlueSky, Aardman, and Cartoon Saloon, contributing to acclaimed titles like "Inside Out 2", "Nimona", "Wolfwalkers", "Ron's Gone Wrong", "A Shaun the Sheep Movie", "Song of the Sea", "The Breadwinner", and "The Secret of Kells". Beyond her animation work, recognized with 2 Emmy nominations, Alessandra is committed to mentoring, offering her expertise at Pixar, Netflix, The Walt Disney Family Museum, the School of Visual Arts in New York, The Animation Workshop in Denmark, and Schoolism. Currently Art Director at Studio MDHR.

In this talk, Alessandra Sorrentino shares her personal workflow for building a scene—from script to pitch—navigating early chaos, identifying key beats, managing her energy throughout the process, and adapting to different production needs and directors. Drawing from her experience on movies like Inside Out 2, she shares the habits, tools, and mindset that support her approach—offering an honest look at how a scene comes together, and how each artist can find their own rhythm.
