Alex Astrella (He/Him)

Alex is a visual artist based in Orange County, California. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 2, Alex was told that he’d never be able to hold a job as an adult. Now thriving in the adult world, Alex has won numerous awards and has garnered nationwide praise for his documentary films. In addition to film, Alex also works with special needs children daily through his role as a behavior analyst.

This panel brings together neurodivergent artists and their managers to explore how inclusive hiring, workplace support, and career development are strengthening the digital arts and animation industry. Industry leaders will discuss the value of neurodivergent voices on creative teams and share practical strategies for recruiting and supporting neurodivergent talent. Neurodivergent artists will learn to showcase their skills, advocate for themselves in the workplace, and navigate a rapidly-changing industry.

Presenters include representatives from Exceptional Minds, a vocational academy and professional studios for artists on the autism spectrum, independent neurodivergent artists working in the industry, and leaders committed to hiring and supporting neurodivergent talent.
