Andrés Parada (He/Him)

Concept Artist
My name is Andrés Parada and I’m a senior illustrator and concept artist working in film, TV, and games. I’m a member of the Art Directors Guild (IATSE, local 800). My experience includes projects for clients like Netflix, Disney, Apple TV+, Paramount Pictures, Marvel Studios, MGM Amazon, Hulu, Universal, 20th Century Studios, HBO Max and SONY Pictures. Some of my recent jobs are: Chief of War, Spider Man -Noir, For All Mankind, Paradise, Rebel Moon, Wonder Man, Monster, Lioness, Manhunt and American Horror Story. I was raised by Chilean refugees in Stockholm, Sweden, where I spent my youth painting murals and filling up sketch books with stylized graffiti letters and crazy characters. In 2004 I moved to the U.S. to obtain my degree in Industrial Design. I worked for a decade as a product design consultant doing projects for companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Toyota, Jeep, PepsiCo and Hasbro. In 2016 I shifted my full time focus to the entertainment industry, where I finally found a perfect home for my visual storytelling.

Concept Art in a Changing Industry

Art Directors Guild | Sean Hargreaves | Ed Natividad | Shane Baxley | Andrés Parada | Matthew Cunningham | Dawn Brown | Phil Saunders

The panel will address the current changes such as AI and various industry shifts and how to survive within them.. As the entertainment industry is facing changes of a magnitude not seen since the introduction of sound and color, with the realization of the power of AI, as well as offshore filmmaking, we have to ask ourselves, where do we stand as creators, and where will we be in 5 years? As professionals we have survived many changes in the last 30 years: Analog to digital, 2D to 3D, but this new threat is something totally different, and is of great concern to many, both incoming and veterans. This panel will address what we feel, as professionals in the film and game business, is the direction the business will take, and hope for survival with these massive changes.
