Anthony Scott has been bringing puppets, clay, and creatures to life for over 30 years. His stop motion journey began in 1987 when animation legend Art Clokey hired him for The New Adventures of Gumby. Not long after, he teamed up with Henry Selick on inventive MTV shorts, a Pillsbury Doughboy comeback, and eventually Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. From there, Scott animated on James and the Giant Peach, Monkeybone, and as Animation Supervisor on Corpse Bride and Laika’s Coraline, helped set the bar for both artistry and technique. He picked up an Emmy in 2008 for Showtime’s United States of Tara and, with director Jamie Caliri, crafted Annie Award–winning spots and The Shins’ striking video The Rifle’s Spiral. His recent feature projects include ParaNorman, The Little Prince, Wendell & Wild, and Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-winning Pinocchio. Beyond the stage and studio, he founded StopMotionAnimation.com, a go-to hub for animators worldwide, and has shared his passion at Comic-Con, CTNX, and beyond. His latest shorts, Brim Broome Boulevard and The Littles, are now charming the festival circuit.
