My name is Arielle Jovellanos and I'm a freelance comic artist, illustrator, and writer! My most recent projects are a short in “Women of Marvel” for Marvel in 2024 and “Girl Taking Over: A Lois Lane Story” from DC Comics’ YA book line in 2023. Other works include writing for the "Aggretsuko: Meet Her Friends" comic series for Oni Press, illustrating "Black Star" an original sci-fi graphic novel for Abrams ComicArts, and illustrating "Evil Thing" a Cruella DeVil backstory graphic novel for Disney-Hyperion.
My comic debut for "Fresh Romance" went on to be nominated for the Eisner Award, the Harvey Award, and the Dwayne McDuffie Award for Diversity. I have also drawn covers and comics for Boom Studios (Adventure Time, Power Rangers), Dark Horse Comics (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), IDW (Monster High) and other companies and illustrated books for Simon & Schuster (Drawn That Way) and Little Brown and Company (Fierce Heroines). My art has also been featured in books, magazines, and branded social media campaigns for Valve, Audible, UnderArmour, and Bounty.
