Liuyazi (Arya) Hou is a Senior Concept Artist and sculptor with over a decade of experience in the game industry, specializing in creature design, character design, and narrative world-building across AAA VR, console, and mobile games. She has worked with studios including Meta, Ready At Dawn, and Tencent, contributing to titles such as Lone Echo II, Echo Combat, Legendary: Game of Heroes, and Dragon Oath.
Her practice bridges entertainment design and fine art. Drawing from lived experience, myth, emotion, and embodied movement, Arya creates surreal creatures that feel both otherworldly and deeply human. Her work explores vibrant darkness, resilience, and the hidden inner lives that shape character and creature design.
Her sculpture The Story of Transformation, received the Gold Sculpture Award in Infected By Art Vol. 14. She was also selected as a Finalist for the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize, featured in Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, and has exhibited at the Tokyo International Art Fair.
