Hi! I’m Austen— a visual development artist, background designer & painter, and instructor currently based in sunny Los Angeles. My work attempts to find meaning in all of the noise and chaos of life, and to distill that magic for viewers and audiences. I love to romanticize the mundane.
I've had the pleasure of collaborating with studios such as DisneyTV, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Flying Bark Productions, and a handful of others, where I've worked to craft rich, storied, and textured worlds that let narratives reach their full potential. In addition to studio work, I teach a color fundamentals workshop with Warrior Art Camp. The curriculum I've developed helps students walk away with skills that help them gain a deeper connection and intuition towards their own creativity as well as a solid color theory foundation.
On top of being an avid painter and designer, I am very passionate about vintage clothing!
