Christian Alzmann
Concept Artist
Christian Alzmann has spent the last 24 years as a Concept Artist and Art Director in the film industry, first with Industrial Light & Magic and most recently with Lucasfilm. He is currently creating concept art for The Mandalorian and other Star Wars projects. He is most well known for designing both BB-8 and Grogu. After graduating from The Art Center College of Design, Christian was hired at ILM. During his 19 years there he worked on numerous films as a Senior Art Director until 2018 when he accepted a Concept Design Supervisor position at Lucasfilm. Christian is a member of The Academy of Motion Pictures and his work was nominated for multiple ADG Awards. Among his many film projects are A.I., Men in Black 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars Episode II, War of the Worlds, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Jungle Book, Rogue One, Star Wars VII, and Star Wars IX. As a visual storyteller Christian also illustrated book covers for Science Fiction & Fantasy novels. His clients include Harper Collins, Penguin Books, IDG and Future Publishing. Tales: The Art of Christian Alzmann, which features his personal work, was published in 2013 by Design Studio Press.
