Deana Igelsrud is a Legislative & Political Advocate helping the Concept Art Association in their advocacy to protect human artists & creators from predatory extraction of their intellectual property, which is used as "data fuel" for unregulated GenAI. Most people know her as the Co-Chair for the Legislative Action Committee for the Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) which represents more than 3 million registered Democrats in LA County. She has a degree in Broadcast Electronic Communication Arts from SFSU (Magna Cum Laude ’96), with an emphasis in Directing & Producing. She was a Production Designer on a number of indie films, and has worked in both PR and in the Commercials Art Department at VFX powerhouse Industrial Light & Magic. As a graphic designer, she has designed political mail for several winning campaigns, and her team at LACDP won three National AAPC Pollie Awards. Her husband and brother-in-law are illustrators in the entertainment industry, and her stepfather is a professional guitarist. “Pretty much my entire family and everyone I know and love and care about is directly affected by this, so how could I not be involved.” #SupportHumanArtists #NoAI
