Ellen Jin is an Emmy Award–winning Art Director with nearly 30 years of experience in animation, known for her work with DreamWorks, Disney, and Marvel. A Korean-born artist who immigrated to the U.S. at 16, she studied illustration at Otis College of Art and Design before launching a career that blends imaginative design with digital precision. Ellen has led the visual direction of major animated series and films, including Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, Spirit Riding Free, Tinker Bell, and the Gabby’s Dollhouse movie. Her early work includes digital painting on Doctor Strange and Ironman for Marvel, and Emmy-winning art direction on Jakers! Renowned for her versatility and collaborative approach, Ellen brings cultural depth and stylistic innovation to every project. Her design for Tinker Bell’s teapot house even became a Disneyland attraction. She works primarily in Photoshop and is deeply involved in mentorship and speaking engagements at events like Lightbox Expo and the Motion Picture Academy.
