DIY Dreams: Career-Building With Indie Animation & Screening

Room 106 | Yusra Shahid | Noël Wiggins | Flo Young | Ivan Gozali | Tracy Liu

What does it take to go from an idea to an industry-ready short? This panel explores how independent animation can become your strongest calling card — opening doors to studios, festivals, and future collaborators. We’ll walk through creative direction in collaborative projects, managing large teams, and building remote pipelines in global creative spaces.

As a case study, we’ll dive into the making of bé hồng (little persimmon) — a 2-minute award-winning short film created in just 9 days with a crew of 40+ artists through the Asians in Animation Immersive Lab.

The second half of the session invites the audience to connect and find new collaborators — a live creative matchmaking space designed to spark your next project and celebrate the spirit of community at LBX.
