Joe Moshier (He/Him)

Joe Moshier is a prominent American character designer and animator with a long career at major studios, including Walt Disney Animation, DreamWorks, and Sony Pictures Animation, Pixar, Laika and currently WB Pictures Anim. Moshier's signature style is known for its heavy use of graphic shapes and exaggerated angles, which provide a unique alternative to more traditional design. Moshier attended the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) for 2 years and received an internship at Chuck Jones Studio where he was offered an Animator position but soon left for an opportunity at Walt Disney Feature Animation. He began at Disney Feature as a rough in-betweener on The Hunchback of Notre Dame, but quickly advanced to character design. Over his career, Moshier has contributed as Lead Character Designer/Character Art Director on numerous films across various studios, including serving as character design Lead for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Vivo , The Emperor's New Groove, The Boss Baby, (2014), Bolt, The Emperor's New Groove, Meet the Robinsons, Home on the Range and contributed designs for Kubo, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and 3, The Croods, and Lightyear and Fixed.
