Josh ‘Hat’ Lieberman (He/Him)

Director Storyboard Artist
Josh ‘Hat’ Lieberman has 16 plus years of experience storyboarding, developing, writing and directing for major animation studios. His credits span television and feature film including work for such studios as Cartoon Network, Dreamworks, Blue Sky Studios, Warner Bros. Illumination and Sony. He was head of story on the Sony/Netflix animated feature 'Wish Dragon' and more recently served as Director and co-writer for the sequel. He also spent a year as part of the Warner Bros. feature animation development team helping revamp their IP library until sliding onto the reboot of Space Jam as head of story for pre-production. He is currently writing and developing for various studios and doing comedy punch-up on multiple projects. He currently runs Storyboard Hotline, a social media platform with tips, tricks and advice on visual storytelling, alongside fellow animation Veteran Moroni Taylor.

In this interactive workshop, animation storyboard veterans Christian Roman (The Simpsons, Disney TVA, Pixar, Aardman), Josh Lieberman (Blue Sky, Dreamworks, Sony) , and Mike Daley (Blue Sky, Pixar) will engage with the audience using interactive exercises, tips, tricks and techniques to help you create and iterate yourself out of any story, scene or comedy rut. Bring your drawing tools of choice, be ready to draw and join in on the fun!
