Lauren is an Emmy Award-Winning illustrator and Art Director who has worked for companies such as Google, Marvel, Electronic Arts, Wizards of the Coast, Zynga, and Amazon Games. She uses her love of storytelling and whimsy to draw viewers into her world by immersing them in a realm of fantasy and whimsy. She loves representing the union of nature and humanity, of motion in one image. Upon receiving her MFA from the Savannah College of Art Design, she went on to break into the animation and gaming industries, with credits on shows such as the Archer, The League, and Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and on games such as The Simpsons: Tapped Out and Words with Friends. She currently works at Wizards of the Coast as a Digital Art Director. As an advocate of inclusion and equity in the gaming and animation industries, Lauren actively pursues outreach and mentorship at schools, colleges, conventions, and through her co-hosted podcast, Painted in Color.(http://youtube.com/c/PaintedinColor)

This panel explores the less common ways to enter into the arts and entertainment industries, tailored specifically to a person’s individual skills/interests rather than the common fields most young professionals know and explore (character design/modeling, vis dev, concept art, animation, etc). Each panelist has found their way into their careers via more unconventional paths and methods, and have remained flexible in their field to find their own measure of success and joy.
