Marcelo Vignali is one of the entertainment industry's most celebrated creative forces. Known for his boundless imagination and cinematic visual storytelling, his work has helped define the look of modern animation and themed entertainment. Formally trained at the Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design, Marcelo brought his illustration skills to Disney, contributing to Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, Atlantis, Brother Bear, and The Emperor’s New Groove. As Art Director of Visual Development at Disney Television Animation, he helped shape The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, The Ghost and Molly McGee, and more. Marcelo played a key role in launching Sony Pictures Animation, designing standout films like Surf’s Up, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Hotel Transylvania, Vivo, and the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Twice nominated for ASIFA’s Production Designer of the Year, he continues to inspire visual storytelling across media. His latest work, Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, premieres this September from DreamWorks Animation.
