Maria Vela is a Spanish Character Designer and Art Director currently based in Vancouver, Canada. She works as an Art Instructor at the renowned Vancouver Film School (VFS) and has worked with clients such as Warner Bros., Netflix, HBO Max, Nickelodeon, Blender, among many others. Her work is known for its stylized characters, rich in gesture and storytelling!
In her free time, she usually participate as a guest artist at several international festivals, where she has shared her passion for expressive character design through masterclasses, talks, exhibitions and portfolio reviews, always excited to connect with new artists and friends along the way!
