Marika Tamura is a visual development artist working in the entertainment industry.
She has worked on LAIKA's next animated feature, "Wildwood”, and also works as a freelance artist on various projects.
Born in Yokohama, Japan, Marika studied abroad in Canada and later in the US at a young age with the aim of working in the animation industry. She received a BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design with a major in Computer Animation in 2021. While at Ringling, she directed and created an animated short called, "Final Deathtination"; it was nominated for the Student Academy Award 2021, and won/was nominated for over 70 short film awards.
