Mark Jones is an educator, writer, film producer, and frequent strategist to arts organizations across Canada. He is the Dean of the Faculty of Animation, Art, and Design at Sheridan College, Canada’s largest art school with internationally recognized programs in animation, filmmaking, design, performance, and material arts. Jones is a founding board member of The Toronto Animation Arts Festival International (TAAFI), and co-producer of several award-winning short animated films including Subconscious Password (dir: Chris Landreth, 2013), DAM! The Story of Kit the Beaver (dir: Kjell Boersma, 2014), and Nothing to Say (dir: Aubry Mintz, 2019). He holds an M.A. in Communication and Culture from Toronto Metropolitan University, and is the author of the book The Starving Artist Myth: Bust the Stereotype and Find Success in Creative Careers from Dundurn Press. He lives in Toronto with his creative teenager and an equally creative cat.

Screening of the 24 HOURS Animation Contest for Students—a global challenge where teams create a 30-second animated film in just 24 hours! Entries are judged by top industry pros, with prizes from sponsors like Toon Boom, Disney, Pixar, Netflix, Sony, DreamWorks, and more. Over 15,000 students from 240 schools in 35+ countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Israel, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Spain, the UK, the USA, and more have competed simultaneously worldwide. The screening includes a Q&A with select filmmakers, moderated by Nathan Brown from Wacom. Sponsored by Legends Animated, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting impactful, independent animation.
