Meridian Gray Culpepper is an animation studio founder, creative executive, and director with experience spanning independent production and major animation studios. She began her career at Pixar Animation Studios in the story department and later worked in story at Skydance Animation on WondLa for Apple TV+. As Founder & CEO of Herringbone Animation Studios, she leads studio strategy, creative development, production, and original IP development. With a foundation as a working artist and storyteller, she brings an artist’s perspective to studio leadership, bridging creative vision with the strategic business decisions required to bring creatively ambitious animation projects to life for audiences.
Inspired by folklore, psychological horror, and character-driven drama, Meridian’s work explores themes of identity, belonging, and transformation. She is passionate about expanding the narrative possibilities of animation and creating films that challenge audiences emotionally while embracing the imaginative and entertaining possibilities of the medium.
