Michael Knapp is a Production Design Consultant and Visual Development artist for feature animated films, shorts and commercials. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and now based in New York City, he began his career as a freelance illustrator and commercial storyboard artist, but found his way into animation as a visual development artist at Blue Sky Studios on the visually stunning and enduring film Robots. During his 20 year tenure at Blue Sky he worked on the entire Ice Age franchise, was the Production Designer for Ice Age: Collision Course, Spies in Disguise and the Disney+ series Scrat Tales, Art Director for Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Epic, and the Oscar nominated Scrat short No Time For Nuts. Clients include 20th Century Animation/Disney, Netflix, WBPA, Annapurna Animation, SPA, BottleCap Productions, Hornet Animation and more.
