Pat Stout (He/Him)

Other
Pat is a Jamaican-American writer and Muay Thai fighter hailing from rural Florida. He grew up on a small farm with his single mother, and developed an early love for heroes and comics after visiting the Superman Museum with his grandfather and receiving a D.C. Encyclopedia from him at the age of 10. Pat would often escape the farm to his own fantasy worlds, imagining what it would be like to have superpowers and go on heroic adventures. His favorite pastimes were reading manga after school, drawing accessories for his comic book characters or acting them out in athletic feats. His elders did not approve of these passions and quelled his pursuits. However, after playing football and studying biology as a student-athlete at Wesleyan University, Pat realized his heart was in the arts. After Wesleyan, Pat reconnected with his partner, Asa, and they dove into their passions, creating “Sentinel 6”; a futuristic sci-fi about a group of super powered young people of color who must face both the problems within society and those within themselves. Through writing and martial arts, Pat has explored the path of the hero, so to speak, and developed a deep connection to the story of Sentinel 6
