Qianjiao Ma (Q) is a Los Angeles-based visual artist and designer working at the intersection of storytelling, illustration, and world-building. With a background in Entertainment Design from ArtCenter College of Design, Q has contributed to themed entertainment and animation industries since 2018. Outside of client work, Q is the creator of Catzilla, an art brand that blends cats, Japanese culture, and whimsical adventure. Her work explores the emotional connection between place, memory, and imagination—often featuring gigantic feline companions roaming real-world locations. Q balances her industry career with independent art projects, conventions, and a YouTube channel documenting her creative journey. Through all her work, she aims to inspire others to pursue bold artistic dreams and embrace creative resilience.

In this plein air painting experience, you will step out and recreate your memories at LightBox Expo!

Let’s gather outside the iconic Pasadena Civic Auditorium, then spread out to capture the vibrant street scenes on location. Whether you’re painting a quiet architectural moment or a bustling character-filled vignette, this is your chance to observe, imagine, and create right in the heart of LA with Warrior Painter hosts!

Bring your sketchbooks, painting supplies, or digital tablets—whatever you like to work with! Artists of all levels are welcome, and professional mentors will be on-site to offer feedback, tips, and encouragement throughout the session. Every participant will also receive an official event button to commemorate the day.
