JW & Melissa Buchanan are The Little Friends of Printmaking, a Pasadena, California-based pair of illustrators and designers. They are the winners of several international awards in illustration from Art Directors Club, Communication Arts, and American Illustration. They’ve been invited to lecture and teach workshops at over 20 institutions including Vanderbilt University, Universidad CENTRO, Art Center, and the Bolivian Design Biennale. They are makers of bright and cheerful handmade screenprints with over 100,000 sold. The Little Friends have been published in dozens of books including “New Masters of Poster Design,” “A Survey of Contemporary Printmaking,” and their own monograph “Little Friends of Printmaking: Silkscreen is Easy.” They’ve illustrated children’s books for Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster. Selected clients include: Disney, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Netflix, Warner Bros Animation, FX, Cartoon Network, Nike, and Adobe.
