Hi there! I’m Vyolet Jin, an award-winning Chinese freelance illustrator and concept artist currently based in New York City. I hold an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts (SVA).
My work focuses on breaking the rules by drawing everyday subjects through a playful, whimsical, and emotionally resonant lens. With a vibrant color palette, I love transforming ordinary objects into powerful, chaotic, yet beautiful visual narratives.
My illustrations have been featured in prominent publications including The New York Times, NYT Kids, 4N Magazine, Youth Magazine, Esses Magazine, and Ramona Magazine. I have also had the privilege of collaborating with prestigious institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art. My passion and dedication to the craft have been recognized by major global illustration awards, including the Society of Illustrators, 3x3 Magazine, the Art Directors Club, the World Illustration Awards (UK), and the Shenzhen Illustration Biennale (China).
I’m thrilled to be exhibiting and presenting here at LightBox Expo 2026! Stop by to say hi, check out my latest art prints and zines, or let’s chat about potential collaborations :)
