Creating an Animated Series Outside of Hollywood
In 2015, Adam Yaniv wrote and directed the short film SUMMER MEMORIES as part of the Nickelodeon Animated Shorts Program. When challenged to find the right home for the family comedy series he based on the short, Yaniv set out to finance the project outside the Hollywood system – a journey that culminated in a Canada/Israel co-production between Yaniv’s own A&N Productions, Aircraft Pictures and Yeti Farm Creative – now airing on Roku, Family Channel, Amazon Prime and other platforms internationally. This panel will showcase the journey from short film to 40 episodes and 20 shorts – including strategies for tapping international co-production models to move animated concepts from development to production.
