Jay Shuster talks about his growing up in the design and engineering circles of Detroit, his path to Pixar and the process of designing the trash-compacting robot. He shares the stage with Michael McMaster, robot-builder extraordinaire, whose very first build was a full-scale, romote-control Wall-E. Michael will speak to his own experiences growing up in California’s central valley and the uncommon course his career took, leading him to gigs such as working on set for Disney/Lucasfilm’s current Star Wars projects.
