The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story

“The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story” is an original short film from Sony Pictures Animation and Sony Pictures Imageworks’ new mentorship program, “Leading and Empowering New Storytellers” (LENS), which aims to provide high-potential candidates from underrepresented groups an opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience.

Through the program, the studios identify four candidates from both inside and outside of their existing crews who will dive headfirst into creative leadership positions and work together to make an animated short film.

Join two of the inaugural LENS filmmakers, Jarelle Dampier (Director) and Khaila Amazan (Writer), for a screening of their short and Q&A, moderated by program creator/producer David Schulenburg.
