Before We Were Directors: Women in Animation
Everyone starts somewhere—and sometimes that “somewhere” is a portfolio you’d rather forget. Join the women leading Titmouse’s most adventurous projects (Jentry Chau Vs The Underworld, Golden Axe, Niko and the Sword of Light, the upcoming Lore Olympus) as they candidly revisit, critique, cringe, and get nostalgic over their earliest work. They’ll offer portfolio and hiring advice and share the lessons they learned as they climbed the ranks from PAs and Interns to Directors in a male-dominated industry. Panelists will reflect on how the animation landscape has evolved alongside cultural and structural changes, and how they managed to survive the ebbs and flows. Leave with a better understanding of what hiring teams are looking for and how to build a career that lasts.
