  • The Art of Pitching

    Patrick Harpin

As someone who has sold shows as pitch decks and supervised them as Showrunner, I have learned to hold myself to a standard of self-crit that has helped me in getting my ideas not only sold, but executed well. This is not a lesson in how to ‘trick’ a studio into buying a half-baked idea. What this really is, is a presentation on "How to Write a Story WORTH pitching". So when you're finally ready to pitch your idea... it'll be taken seriously.

  • Physical Applications in the World of Drawing

    Max Narciso

"The Law of Conservation of Mass", a fundamental physical law, states that "Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything transforms."* However, mastering the rules of drawing alone is not sufficient to evoke a sense of life or storytelling. It's not enough to convincingly depict a character's interaction with the floor, to make a hand appear as if it's truly grasping something, or to show a car tire deforming as it takes a turn. Applied physics in drawing has always fascinated me. Over the years, I have intensely worked on my drawing style and the methods I use. Through enlightening exercises, I have significantly developed this skill. During the talk, we will explore together how to apply the principles of physics to enhance visual storytelling techniques.
